Text Box: The denial that Jesus is not the only way to God contradicts the words of Christ Himself. The assertion that all ways lead to God denies logic. All can be wrong, logically, but all can’t be right because of the gross contradictions between each view. Oprah, evidently, defies both Christ and logic in her assertion.

Text Box: It Wasn’t Me! Before I begin, it’s only fair to warn you about my family, much of which is involved in a form of martial arts known as Jujitsu. My youngest brother is a brown belt in the submission art and as the owner of a tree service he is also pretty handy with a Chainsaw. My baby sister is a skilled martial artist as well and her husband – my brother-in-law – trained them all. I should also warn you about my middle brother, the hot-tempered one, who is very proficient as a “hatchet” thrower; the only problem being, he never remembers throwing it at you. Don’t you just hate those anger blackouts? I warn you about my family because the things about which I write tend to make people very angry and a little family support makes perfect sense. When I address the basic philosophical ills that drive many of our modern business, legal and political movements, it isn't unusual for someone to call me names or even “call me out.” (Just kidding here of course) And since most of my answers are anchored in a Judeo-Christian worldview, Scripture if you will, they usually respond as if I actually had something to do with the invention of Christianity and its truth claims. I really appreciate the compliment and I’m extremely flattered that anybody could imagine that I was capable of such; but the truth is; I had nothing to do with it. Hey, I’m just the delivery boy. Just recently, for example, a pastor from Jamestown took it upon himself to legitimize the prayer and worship of other religious faiths as if God somehow accepts all people of any religious persuasion as long as sincerity is part of the equation. After all, we are told, truth about such matters can’t really be known, at least with any certainty; and any opposition to such thinking is usually met with predictable outrage followed by name calling and labeling. It wasn’t me! I didn’t invent a God like the one in the Bible and throw him into the mix of things. I, like you, would prefer a God who is more manageable – one that I could mold into my own image; like the “god” of the modern gay movement – one that can be fashion into the valiant defender of my right to be happy no matter what choices I make in life. I definitely didn’t invent the idea of an absolutely holy being who defines Himself as a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:29) I didn’t make him unapproachable by even the best specimens of the human race. Nor did I invent the biblical view of man. It is the Bible that says that “the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it.” (Jeremiah 17:9) It was the Apostle Paul who declared all men sinners (Romans 3:23) - Not me. In reality, I only relay the message of Christ. The claims of exclusivity are his not mine. He declared himself “the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6) Jesus angered the religious hierarchy by equating himself with the Almighty in essence (John 10:31) and excluding the teachings of all other religious gurus, prophets, and teachers as the mighty God before whom even they will bow, not me! So, if Christianity’s truth claims make you angry, just remember that I had absolutely nothing to do with them, I just happen to know they’re true. If you’re still angry and my above family tree doesn’t curtail your intent to do me bodily harm, I must also warn you about my dad’s membership in the famed “goat gang” of Tabor City fifty some odd years ago. Just his reputation, at least to hear him tell it, is enough to do his dirty work. Hey, save us both a lot of trouble and let’s just sit down like civilized people and talk about it over a cup of coffee.
